This is a genuine Lozier gondola shelving system part accessory that's used to connect two slotted uprights together and cap off and support a 1/4 inch thick pegboard or hardboard back panel. It's installed and attached to the uprite sides using the metal ears or tabs on the left and right ends of the rail.
