Southern Supplies Limited part sponsor in Toyota’s annual Skills Competition

Toyota Trinidad and Tobago Limited Service Department has kept abreast with technological international standards and competencies enjoyed throughout the globe from Japan to the Americas.

In celebration of this feat, it hosted its annual Skills Competition for its technical employees on October 15. The competition is an internal event and is in its second year and is the local leg of what is known as the “World Skills Cup” which will be held in Japan next year.

Judged by a group of their peers, the competition aims to recognise and congratulate their star performers and motivate the entire technical team to maintain and raise their standards of superior service on a consistent and sustained basis.

After a lengthy pre-selection period, four outstanding service technicians were shortlisted to compete and from the previous experience; it will not be an easy task to determine a winner from such an esteemed group of professionals.

“Toyota Trinidad and Tobago Limited is proud to be part of this second annual skills Cup to ensure that our technicians are on par with the global service system that gives Toyota the reputation that our customers have grown accustomed to,” said Malcolm Bater, managing director during his presentation speech.

Service technician Dale Bengie copped the first prize of a ticket to any Caribbean Airlines destination with hotel accommodation. Other sponsors included Laughlin and De Gannes, Castrol, Dumore Enterprise, Southern Supplies Limited, Rahamut Enterprise Limited, GML Contractors and Caribbean Accessories Limited.

Southerns Supplies Limited would like to extend their congratulations to Dale Bengie and all other Technicians that took part in the competition. Southern Supplies Limited is in support of events such as the "Annual Skills Competition" as it promotes improvment and effeciency of the nations labour force and economy as a whole.
