It is the mission of 3M & SPL to provide those responsible for the safety and security of workers at height with reliable fall arrest equipment, as well as the knowledge needed to make life saving decisions.

In this post, we have Mr. Jean Martin, Advanced Fall Protection Specialist, 3M Ecuador, conducting Authorized Person Training, as well as Competent Person Training.  With the support of our Local 3M Support System, Kevin Mohammed and Company, we were able to have a successful week of Training from the 4th-7th July,2017 at SPL’s Conference Room, Point Lisas. For those who are not familiar with the Terms, see brief outline below:-

Authorized Person Training –A focus on the best practices in fall protection and the need to protect workers at height. Participants are introduced to the legislation governing fall protection as well as the components of a fall protection system including body support, anchorages, connectors and rescue. Upon successful completion of this course the student will receive a certificate acknowledging they have met or exceeded OSHA, ANSI and CSA requirements as an Authorized Person.

Competent Person Training  - Enables the attendee to be responsible for the immediate supervision, implementation and monitoring of managed fall protection program. Attendees learnt practical solutions to difficult Fall Protection problems using appropriate tools and equipment.
